On April 1st, Dynamic Stew played the Lounge. In typical fashion, the Stew unleashed their brand of funk onto the crowd. Again, the crowd was tight at the Lounge while the Stew did their thing on stage. Most of the time, the music isn’t in your face - then sudden bursts of excitement flavor each song. This can sometimes add to the tension and release.
Dynamic Stew is not straight up funk- they are more. Having sprouted from the current scene, their music reveals a bit more of a jam side which makes it a bit of a subdued funk. At times, they remind me of The Allman Bros. And the Lounge was loving it up, dancing the night away. These guys have been getting some pretty major gigs in the city opening up for some major players.
